Human rights abuses remain one of the deepest wounds affecting the Democratic Republic of Congo.
For decades, millions of Congolese have suffered violence, arbitrary arrests, displacement, silencing
of voices, discrimination, and denial of basic freedoms. These abuses have destroyed trust, weakened
institutions, and blocked peace and development.

Human Rights Protection Front (HRPF – Shujaa) exists to confront this reality with courage, truth, and action.

Why This Cause Matters

Human rights are not privileges granted by power. They are fundamental rights that belong to every Congolese
by virtue of their humanity. When these rights are violated, peace becomes impossible, development collapses,
and injustice becomes normalized.

Ending human rights abuses is not only a moral obligation. It is the foundation for national unity, security,
justice, and sustainable development.

The Reality We Must Change

• Violence against civilians and vulnerable communities
• Arbitrary arrests, detention without due process, and intimidation
• Attacks on journalists, activists, and defenders of justice
• Discrimination based on ethnicity, region, gender, or social status
• Impunity for perpetrators of abuse, including those in positions of authority

These conditions have created fear, silence, and exclusion. HRPF – Shujaa refuses to accept this as the future of the DRC.

Our Commitment

HRPF – Shujaa is committed to building a Congo where:

• Every citizen enjoys freedom of expression, movement, and association
• Justice is applied equally, without favoritism or political influence
• Security forces protect the people, not intimidate them
• Women, children, and vulnerable groups are safe and respected
• No Congolese lives in fear for speaking the truth

What HRPF – Shujaa Will Do

To end human rights abuses, HRPF – Shujaa will:

• Strengthen the rule of law and judicial independence
• End impunity through accountability and transparent legal processes
• Protect human rights defenders, journalists, and civil society
• Reform security institutions to be disciplined, professional, and people-centered
• Promote civic education so citizens understand and defend their rights
• Ensure victims of abuse receive justice, protection, and support

Human Rights and Peace Are Inseparable

There can be no lasting peace without respect for human rights. There can be no development without justice.
HRPF – Shujaa believes that protecting human dignity is the strongest weapon against conflict, corruption, and division.

A Call to the People of Congo

Ending human rights abuses requires collective responsibility. HRPF – Shujaa calls on citizens, communities,
institutions, and partners to stand together for dignity, justice, and freedom.

This cause is about restoring hope. This cause is about protecting life. This cause is about building a Congo
where rights are respected and peace becomes permanent.
